Our first game in five week due to snow and rain before Christmas - infact this game was in danger earlier in the week due to heavy rain. However, the pitch was in remarkable condition. Brunsmeer were the visitors and it was immediately evident they have improved lots since our last meeting in October. Game one was a tight affair, Brunsmeer tackling hard and well organised and Ecclesfield trying to play the attacking/passing football that they are good at. A change of numbers of player on the pitch for Ecclesfield seemed to throw them for most of the first half, although they seemed more at home in the second half. Highlights of the game were some great passing moves from Dylan and Kieran, some last ditch defending from Josh and a great diving save from James in the first half. It finished with Ecclesfield a couple of goals behind, but could have been different if not for some good saves from the Brunsmeer goalie and a couple of shots just the wrong side of the post.

So, Ecclesfield needed to win game two to save the overall game. The game started as game one had with Brunsmeer well organised and hard to break down and breaking dangerously when they got the ball. Dom was very strong at the back for Ecclesfield, breaking up a number of Brunsmeer breaks. The main highlight of game two has to be Aman's rocket! A break down the right, cut into the box and fire into the top corner to the goalies left - what a goal.

Game two finished with Ecclesfield 2 in front, so overall a very hard worked draw. Thanks have to go to Brunsmeer for a great game and to the groundsman who managed to get the pitch in a condition to play at all.
