View Frame Brand: Colnago Country: Italy Primary Focus: Bicycle Frames Years of Operation: 1954 - Current General Information Founded by Ernesto Colnago in Cambiago Italy, the Colango name has become one of the most respected and prestigious names in Italian cycling. Countless professional cyclists have ridden a Colnago frame to victory, and there are an even greater number of models and variations of frames and elaborate paint schemes. However all are quickly recognized by the famous Colnago Clover / Club emblem.
Do note that there are a number of impersonators and copy-cat frames out there that are either a close copy of the colnago logo, or have been painted / repainted to appear to be a true Colnago. History Founded by Ernesto Colnago in Cambiago Italy in 1954. By 1960 a Colango was being ridden to a gold medal in the Rome Olympics. Through the 1960's and 1970's Colnago was well known as one of the greatest custom race bike builders in the world and many professional cyclists went to Colango for their race bicycles - though many would be painted in the name of the brand for whom the racer rode for. Colnago was also the first to introduce straight blade forks, known as the 'Precisa' fork which was supposed to improve stiffness for sprints.

Downtube is crimped - Conic. This is the 2nd Conic I've owned and had this for an Eroica build. I still have my SLX Spiral Conic from 1991 and this rides very similar. See photos for condition. Paint is very good.
The fork has some rust under the bridge but the chrome on the rear stays is VGC. There are some small nicks but nothing too significant. Hard to show in photos due to color. This is not an Art Gallery frame but you'd have trouble spotting blemishes from 6ft.
